Koforidua, also popularly known as K-dua or kof town, is a city and capital of Eastern Region in south Ghana. The city was founded in 1875 . The city has a settlement city proper population of 127,334 people in 2012.[1] The city is an amalgamation of 2 Manucipalities New Juaben North and South.The centre of the city is made up of a blend of colonial and present day architecture.

Koforidua serves as a commercial centre for the Eastern region and New-Juaben Municipal District. The city is home to many businesses, with the exception of heavy duty industries.
